The Worship Movement:
Disciple-Making through Worship
A network for leaders with a heart for worship and disciple-making
The worship movement is a network of worship leaders focused on disciple-making through worship.
It is a center for encouraging each other, challenging our paradigm, and transforming the way we structure our ministries: the values we place and the systems we implement.
We are a community constantly growing in our understanding of worship, theology, and practical skills to lead worship in a way that makes disciples who make disciples.
We believe that worship leaders have the power to inspire, encourage, and lead people into the presence of God, and we’re committed to helping them do just that, so we can all lead in a way that is both authentic and produces disciple-makers.
Whether you're just starting as a worship leader or you're an experienced worship leader longing to do ministry in a more disciple-oriented way, we're a community for you.
Let's work together and collaborate to create powerful, transformative worship experiences, ministries, and teams that bring glory to God and inspire people to live out their faith with passion and purpose.
Our vision is to gather, equip, and send 4,000 worship leaders
-
While a deeply flawed individual, King David did incredible things for God, the people of God, and worship.
He wrote and composed more than half of the songs of worship in the book of Psalms.
During his reign, David brought the Ark of the Covenant, the presence of God, back into the temple.
As David concluded his leadership as king over Israel, he mobilized 4,000 worship leaders to give praise in the house of the Lord day and night (1 Chronicles 23:1-5). They were commissioned to both honor God directly and inspire others to worship him; together, they pursued this goal.
The Herewithin Network is committed to equipping and mobilizing ministry leaders who are commissioned to both honor God and inspire others to worship.
-
We recognize that 4,000 is a ridiculous and impossible number. One person could equip and release 40 worship leaders, a team mobilize 400 worship leaders, but 4,000 is a number that requires deep collaboration, multiplication, and a reliance on God.
It is because of this that we rely on God and reproducing disciple-making to make this happen.
-
We believe that a worship leader is more than having a good voice and being willing to stand in front of people.
This understanding of a worship leader limits the practice of worship to music; it narrows the ability for people to fully activate their calling based on their gifts and passions.
It is because of this that we define a worship leader in the following way:
A worship leader is…
someone who is an equipper and disciple-maker in the ministry of the creative arts.
-
to cultivate a movement of disciple-making through worship that is deeply rooted in the theology and practice of worship as demonstrated in the New Testament Church that promotes reproducing disciple-making.
